The wildly popular Blue
Man Group is an original New York City success
story. The founding members Wink, Goldman and Stanton created their
performance art in a bare apartment in the East Village. Their first "Blue
Man" production was staged in Central Park in 1988 and was aired
on MTV. Just three years later they performed on the Tonight Show,
and Live with Regis and Kathie Lee. The Blue Man Group now has shows
in ten cities throughout the US, Europe and Japan.
Although the Blue Men do not utter a single word during their performance,
they draw you in immediately and completely with their unique combination
of music, comedy and multimedia. Not only are they accomplished mimes
and performers, their drumming is skillful and dynamic.
Several times during the show the Blue Men's super human orifice,
which is located in the center of their chests, spews out fluorescent
paint onto the head of their drums. Their energetic drumming forces
the paint to propel upwards. The hand painted fluorescent sound tubes,
crafted from PVC pipes, amplify their contagious rhythms while strobe
lights shine on the drums to emphasize the intense movement and brilliant
color of the paint. This makes for a kinetic rhythmic concert and a
very unique light show!

Their antics with food will have you laughing until it hurts. The
percussive bit with Captain Crunch is hilarious. And, proudly, an LP
Vibraslap stars in one of their skits. As the performance progresses
it seems that each new skit is better then the last one. The finale
is unbelievably funny! A blast for all ages.
