The entire staff at Latin Percussion was treated to a very special
concert by El Rey de Timbale, Tito
Puente, and his Latin Jazz Orchestra. Though there have been several
shows for the staff by other artists, Tito's show managed to get the audience
on its feet and dancing.
Of course, Tito, as well as the other percussionists in the band, proudly
played their LP instruments. As a result, a sense of pride was felt in the
air among all of LP's employees, as they witnessed, firsthand, the instruments
in the hands of greatness.
Performing along with Tito were LP artists Johnny
Rodriguez (bongos & bells) and Jose
Madera (congas), who have been longtime friends of LP. Also performing
were Sonny Bravo (keyboards), Mitch Frohman (saxophone), Bernie Minoso
(bass), Reynaldo Jorge (trombone), Kevin Bryon (trumpet), John Walsh (trumpet),
Mario Rivera (sax), and Frankie Morales (vocals). And the afternoon would
not have been complete without Tito's assistant, "Band Boy" Ralphie Barbosa.
After the show, Tito remained until every autograph was signed for
the staff, proving that he's a true professional who appreciates those who
help him make his wonderful music.
