Doug Hinrichs

Doug HinrichsDoug Hinrichs’ Broadway show credits include The Lion King, Brooklyn, Tarzan and most recently, In the Heights.  In addition to performing in these highly successful shows, Doug gigs and records in-and-around New York City area with countless artists.  
 
After his arrival in the New York City area, Doug immediately became ubiquitous in R&B circles and the house/dance scene.  Jingle work followed, with commercial sessions for ESPN, Miller Lite Beer, and The New York Knicks, among others.  He has toured with Interscope artists Burlap to Cashmere, and composed music for various television shows.

In 2007, Doug immersed himself in Afro-Caribbean music while living in Guadeloupe, where he was coached in the rhythms of gwoka music.  A month-long residency in Trinidad followed in 2008, allowing him to consume and incorporate the rhythms of Orisa and other folkloric Trinidadian music.

Doug helped develop LP’s One-Handed Triangle with the company’s R & D department, which was introduced to rave reviews at the NAMM show in January of 2010.
